Description
Is a portrait in original size of Aulo Metello of Perugia or Cortona. The bronze of the Etruscan aristocrat with sandals and toga, cast around the last years of the II century b.C., is a magnificent example of the Etruscan art of lost wax casting. The aristocrat is in the pose of talking to the crowd. It is at the Archeological Museum of Florence.
The mold used to execute the bronze work using the lost-wax casting process was produced directly on the original, and is currently in the collection of the Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Marinelli
