Christophe-Gabriel Allegrain (Paris, 1710 – Paris, 1795) was an important French sculptor of the neoclassical style with reflections of Rococo. He was a pupil and assistant of the famous sculptor Jean-Baptiste Pigalle.
He was the main sculptor and decorator of the castle of Louveciennes, for which he sculpted a magnificent Venus or Bather, the so-called “Bather of Allegrain”.
