The bronze sculpture “Young Slave” is a posthumous first edition from the original model of the marble sculpture by Michelangelo preserved in the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence.
The statue was sculpted by Michelangelo between about 1525 and 1530 and is part of the so-called “Prisoners” for the tomb of Julius II.
