Description

It was ordered to the artist by the Cardinal Scipione Borghese and carved in marble by Bernini between 1623 and 1624. Is one of the most important and famous examples of Baroque sculpture, in which the torsion of the bust and the gesture’s power is express with great realism. The head of the eagle on the shield under his feet is a connection to the Borghese family. Is exposed at the Borghese Gallery in Rome.
